Challenges in the digital transformation process.
The very main challenge is to get the team aligned
with company’s values and purpose. It could be very important to give a clear
vision of we are heading and how can everyone generate value to achieve the
final objective. With the commitment of
the team we can ensure the willingness to work as a team and generate synergies.
Then, once we have all the team committed, we have to organize the work. For this challenge, we have to select a balance of seniority, ideas and results for each team. The groups may be formed by different departments and cultures to get as much ideas and ways of work as possible and then mix those ideas into a bigger and consolidated conclusion. Based on IDEO’s way of work, the finals ideas and methods will be put in front of the other teams in order to vote and select the best one. Everyone will be satisfied and aligned working in this democratic way.
Also, we have to ensure communication. Based on agile methods I would use Trello with different boards for each team and one general board to see the evolution of the whole project. We can track task splitting them into these columns: to-do, doing, reviewing and completed. Having a wide vision with the diversity in our teams we ensure that all variables are considered and studied. Feedback will be given twice a week in order to organize the work, listen to other groups and see results and advances in an opened place or platform. Also, I would implement tools for quick messaging and individual videocalls like Microsoft Teams or Skype in order to get everyone connected and generate value and exchange of ideas between members and groups.
To sum up, we have organized the teams and give them the
correct tools to optimize the workflow. So now, we have to collect opinions of
the shareholders in order to count with every opinion and analyse the possible
impact in the digital transformation process and get them committed to the
project giving weekly news, advances and improvement areas.
Ensuring commitment, alignment, sense of belonging and
being heard will boost the performance and prevent internal conflicts such as misunderstanding,
lack of communication, disorder… Also, making the other shareholders part of
the workflow will provide strong pillars for the digitalization process.
